Her And Her Crippled Self

Good god. I just got through too much Chemistry homework for my own good. >.> Actually, it wasn't that much, and I got things done that aren't due until next week haha. This has been the first night in a while where I have actually done homework, or anything productive for that matter. I still have History, but let's not worry about that right now. =P Hrmm..sectionals today was a bit of a biznatch.. I really feel bad for the flagline for getting yelled at, but hey, they need to pull it together. Sabre was kind of slow for me today. I hadn't spun since..well Saturday actually and I couldn't toss right. For a while, my wrists felt alien to the motion of turning over fast. Oh well. I was exhausted afterwards and so walking back to the high school and getting locked out for a bit didn't make the guard feel any better. We called up Fabi to come open the door, her and her crippled self, and she decides to "fall to the ground" helplessly. It was funny, I will admit, but after a while I wanted her to come up and just open the damned door. Thanks Fabi. >.>

Early Delay

Talking to you right now is definitely making my night.. ;D

Today all juniors had PSAT's and so every other class had to report at 10:40AM. I was so relieved to find that out yesterday because it gave me the extra kind of sleep I kinda of needed. I woke up around 7:30, still groggy and unwilling to fully regain conscience. Having nothing else to do, I just got ready for the most part. Around 8:30AM I called him and we talked for a good hour. By 10AM it was time to hang up, because he had to take a shower and get ready for school. We met up at the highschool, which didn't open util 11:22AM. woot! The greatest thing about it was that this extra delay made the day go by extremely fast. =] Practice today went fairly well because for Jaelynn and I, sabre finally clicked. We actually understand all the work we're doing along with progress in our tosses. I'm feelin good!

Just A Party!

So I am on my phone right now in feel of how tired today has made me. School itself was a long day. Afterwards, we had guard practice outside on the field. Many of us had not been aware, so we were all practicing in our school uniforms! It was horrible. The amount of sweat to begin with was already at a high and practice only made it worse. Just A Party was nonetheless fun, though! Mainly, I hung out with Abby and Fred [Jonathan]. Its nice to walk about all night with someone's arms around you, as well as your own around them.. fun haha. It was a pretty chill night. Not too many people were around, but we still made a good time out of it! Unlike other years, I personally wanted to come home around 9 because I was so tired and still had hw! So now as I lie here, I can sleep nicely, knowing I had a good day and hw is done. The only thing now is to look forward to tomorrow. XD woot. Bloomfield Game is coming up!

Rain Rain in Passaic

Today was our very first football game against Passaic. Of course we lost, but that was not the highlight of my day. It rained yesterday, during the game. I would've been bad enough to perform pregame and just sit in the stands in the rain, but guard had to practice first and second quarter. Then we ate. Our flags were soaked and no one wanted to be there. Its such a shame that we couldn't even get anything done. We couldn't even get through the first number! It was above all, ridiculous. After eating, we returned back to practice for the rest of the game. Egh.

After football games is always better. We all walked to Wendy's where we usually chill after games. We stayed about a couple of hours and it was pretty fun. A few messes were made, and everyone was arm-wrestling Jonathan. haha.. I ate from Fetus's frosty as well as Roland's. I'm such a fatty haha.

Forever Captured In Photo

I still get to enjoy waking up at 11AM, even though practice is starting up again. Today I woke up around then and really didn't do much..I stayed home and just chilled out watching TV and eating. I tried to redye my hair, but that kind of failed. The color only got a little darker, but it was all the same. A package came around 1:30 PM and I kind of missed it. I was too busy on the computer with headphones on, until my brother threw somthing at me to answer the door. I rushed outside, picking up the UPS sticker on our door to catch the delivery man to reclaim the package. It was from the Philippines and I asked my mom about it. She said it was pictures from her father's funeral. I got the courage to open up the package [she asked me to] and I asked my brother if he wanted to view them with me. We sat on the couch and looked at the first picture. Immediately, feelings of compassion and sadness flooded me as I saw my Lolo laying in his coffin. The inch that produced tears was the image of my mother in mourning, forever captured in photo. It hurts me so much inside to know that. We looked through photos and we would occasionally crack jokes, pointing out little parts of the photos to keep our spirits a little bit higher, above the water.

Around 3:30PM I was dropped off to the high school where I found Greg chilling out, watching the band practice. We both went inside the school to meet up with Jaelynn, Shannon, and Regina, who were sewing up ripped flag silks. I helped them until we had to leave again from our own practice. Tonight's practice was okaym except I know I wasn't up to par. I was tossing to the side and whatnot, just out of it. Everyone has their days, anyway. After practice, I came home and ate my life away with muffins, bread, and cereal. It was bad. Then, my sister, her boyfriend, and I went to Barnes & Noble, so I could purchase the 4th book of Cirque Du Freak! :D I had finished the 3rd earlier today, and was anxious to continue! I also purchased a sketchbook with a beautiful Japanese wave print on the spiral hard covers! I've wanted it for so long! I'm very happy :)

Peace Be With You - Amen

Hrm.. Sunday. I actually went to church t0day!! I hadn't gone for two weeks prior to that. Last week, I was too busy dying at my fathers company picnic, and the week before that I kind of just skipped out to go to Mt. Creek. hehe..

I really thought we were all going that morning. I was wrong. Apparently my parents got into a stupid argument whether or not my mom took a shower or not. It was like the biggest misunderstanding in the world, but whatever. My parents argue once in a while, but it usually settles down after a while. That morning only my sister and I attended church. As I sit there in the pew, I never really pay attention to the service. All I can ever really think about is new sabre work we learned. I go over it again and again, making sure I get it right. But what can I say? Catholic masses aren't the most exciting..

So All We Have To Do Is Get Through Practice, Right?

That Tuesday, Belleville's colorguard had everything to look forward to. All we had to do was get through a straight 9AM-5PM and our reward was at hand. We would be swimming in Kelly's relaxing pool after a hard days work and making t-shirts. Easy, right? Thats what I thought, too.
That day was a tough one. We were out on the field doing drill and putting new saber work with it. There is this one part of the drill at the end of the first number where the saber line tosses a quad while moving quickly into a diagonal. The order is Jaelynn, Me, Shannon, and Regina. From what I heard, Shannon tosses her quad and was still moving back, while Regina who was behind her, tosses and stopped in place. I turn around to find a bleeding forehead on my Captain. Everyone on the field stood quietly, watching. Apparently, Shannon and Regina's sabres collided in the air and one hit her. It was pretty crazy. I thought to myself, "Wow, I thought today was going to be easy. I didn't know bloodshed was part of it." Apparently she came back a while later after finding medical assistance ready to continue practice. She is such a trooper!

We eventually got through the day and relaxed at Kelly's house and in her pool. When I changed in the bathroom, she had a full-sized mirror which allowed me to examine my amazing tan lines. It was as if I wore a bodysuit ll summer! Shirt making was hectic, trying to find room.. but hey we got it done.

Beginning Le Sabre!

As discussed in the previous post, I have begun band camp. This day was day numero 2. I can't say anything was too different but the weather sure was the same! HOT. HOT. and. HOT >.> All I can tell you is that my tanlines are improving and hey, theres nothing we can do about it is there? On that Tuesday, I remember being able to feel the heat burning my skin tone 2 shades darker than it already was. I knew that when I would get home and look in the mirror before jumping into the shower, I would find a greater contrast in what my skin looks like now to what it did only three days ago. Oh, I also started spinning sabre that night as well! Our instructors came that night and pulled us separate from the rest of the guard. Shannon, Jaelynn, Regina, and I were about to begin weapon basics. We stood in a small block of four, in first position, with best posture possible. I borrowed an extra pair of Shannon's guard gloves, being that I lost my own pair earlier into last season. Booyyyyyyy did those glove smell bad! They've been through seasons of lots of sweat! Blegh, thinking of it doesn't give me a good feeling. I stood in the back line, with my sabre at a good left flat, as we began to do basics. PJ only asked for one count, but I still felt that nervous butterflies feeling in my stomach. It was not that I had never practiced with a sabre before, but it was the first actual practice where I was spinning with others and not at home. Also, as I stood in the back I look at the other three girls and thought, "Wow, it feel like our first day all over again..". Despite how long any of us had been spinning, we were all in the same scenario right now. We were all equally quiet; no egos were shooting into the sky, and no one was being a smart ass. At first, he said to do simple spins. Then, he moved up to blade tosses (which I love!) singles, doubles, then triples. NEXT, we jumped to regular tosses: singles, doubles, triples, quads, fives, sixes.. oh then we stopped there because we couldn't go any higher. haha. I just thought it was crazy how he was making us do all that in one day! We're spinning sabre in this year's show, and all I can hope for is to be as good as possible!
